History
During 1993-94, an initiative to establish NABS affiliate organizations was activated. It was called the Organizational Affiliates Initiative. The intention of this initiative was, and is, to increase the number of individuals involved in keeping the African Oral Tradition alive through a national and international network of storytelling organizations. In 1995, the Affiliate Development Program and a National Director’s position were created to focus on the development of these organizations.
